A MAN is fighting for his life following an incident on a street in Paisley.

Officers rushed to Maxwellton Street in the town at around 5.40pm on Sunday, July 23.

Arriving at the scene, cops say they found a 26-year-man who was seriously injured.

He is described as being in a critical condition.

The Gazette:

Two men, aged 24 and 25, have since been arrested in connection with the incident.

The street between Maxwellton Road and Gordon Street remains closed while investigations are carried out.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 5.40pm on Sunday, July 23, 2023, police were called to Maxwellton Street, Paisley, where a 26-year-old man was found seriously injured. 

The Gazette:

"He was taken by ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow where medical staff describe his condition as critical.

"Two men, aged 24 and 25 years, have been arrested in connection with the incident.

"Officers remain at the scene and enquiries are continuing.

The Gazette:

"Maxwellton Street is closed between Maxwellton Road and Gordon Street.  Local diversions are in place in place."
