A man has been arrested after allegedly stealing a bulldog from an Erskine home.
The 36-year-old suspect was reported to police by a neighbour in the street who is said to have spotted him breaking through a fence to gain entry to the back garden of the property at around 6.50pm on Saturday.
It is alleged that the man was seen removing the bulldog and a bag from the house, which had been locked and secured by the pet owner.
Police said that, after carrying out enquiries, officers traced the suspect and found him in possession of the pooch.
