A Renfrew care home was recently decorated with flags of red, white, and blue as staff and residents celebrated American Independence Day.
Craigielea Care Home, in French Street, marked the country's July 4 holiday by tucking into a variety of tasty treats associated with the nation.
Sarah Speirs, service manager at Craigielea Care Home, said residents had a "fabulous time" during the event.
She told The Gazette: "We sent out questionnaires to residents to find out what is important to them, and what activities and celebrations they would like us to organise.
"They came back with all these dates and Independence Day was one of them, as we've got a few veterans within the service.
"There was lots of country and western music playing during the event and we got the residents to plan the menu."
Bacon, waffles and pancakes with syrup were among the tasty food on offer during breakfast.
For lunch, residents were able to enjoy American-themed cuisine such as burgers, hotdogs and fries.
Sarah said: "We did high tea, as well as sandwiches and scones with jam and clotted cream.
"Families participated in the event and it was really a nice day for everybody."
The care home is now preparing to celebrate its 18th anniversary on Friday, July 7.
Sarah added: "We're going to open our doors and throw a party.
"We'll have entertainer Tommy Twigg and a birthday cake."
