AN update has been provided after a van crashed into a railway bridge in Paisley.
We previously reported that the incident took place on Greenhill Road underneath the bridge near St James train station this morning.
The vehicle was seen on its side.
Officers from Glasgow’s Road Policing unit have now revealed that they dealt with a driver "who failed" to notice the height restriction on the bridge.
They also confirmed that no one was injured during the accident.
Network Rail has said they were alerted to the incident at 10.35am this morning.
They said: “We received reports that a road vehicle carrying a crane had struck the bridge on Greenhill Road in Paisley at 10.35am.
“A temporary speed restriction was imposed Glasgow to Gourock line in both directions and following inspection of the bridge and track, the speed restriction was removed at shortly after 11am.”
