Poignant tributes have been paid to an Erskine dad who died at the age of 38 following a motorbike crash.
Chris Adam, who ran Clydebank-based dealership CA Motorcycles, has been described by his family as a "happy-go-lucky" person who "loved life".
He died in hospital on Sunday, May 21, after being seriously injured during an event at Knockhill Racing Circuit, in Fife, two days earlier.
Chris developed a love for motorbikes from a young age while growing up in Strathblane, a village on the outskirts of Stirlingshire.
His brother Blair, 33, told The Gazette: "He had bikes all his life and always had a fascination with them.
"I think he loved the sheer thrill of going out on them, but also loved buying one, getting some fun out of it and selling it.
"I would say he personally owned at least 30 bikes, maybe more.
"His motorbikes and four-year-old son Spencer were his life."
Over the last decade, Chris lived in Inchinnan and Howwood before moving to Erskine.
His passion for buying and selling motorbikes turned into a small business called TT Motorcycles, its name inspired by the famous road race he had followed since he was a boy.
Chris' venture would gain some publicity after it was hit with a copyright claim by the Isle of Man government, which led to the business being renamed CA Motorcycles.
Blair said: "He started his business while he was still working as a production manager at a packaging company, and as the business grew, he decided to take it on full-time.
"While he was annoyed he had to change the name of the business, he also thought it was funny and saw that the publicity wouldn't necessarily do it any harm.
"From then onwards, his business had just been absolutely booming.
"He wanted people to be happy and loved seeing the smile on someone's face when they bought a bike."
Inspector James Henry, of Fife Road Policing, said: "On Friday, May 19, officers were made aware of a crash on track at Knockhill racing circuit, Dunfermline, involving a motorbike.
"The incident happened around 12.10pm and a 38-year-old man was taken by ambulance to the Royal Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy where he died on Sunday, May 21.
"Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the man at this difficult time. A report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal."
Jillian Shedden, managing director at Knockhill Racing Centre, added: "We are saddened to report that Chris Adam, one of our bike track day riders, was involved in a serious accident during a track day at Knockhill Racing Circuit on Friday, May 19 and succumbed to his injuries at the Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy.
"Chris attended many of our bike events and will be sorely missed by all of the team at Knockhill. Our deepest condolences are extended to his family and friends at this sad time."
Details of Chris' funeral have yet to be announced.
