A caring family has coined in more than £4,500 in memory of a much-loved Renfrew dad by taking part in this year's Kiltwalk.
Billy Gunn's wife Janette, his children Jenamay, Jade, Ashley and Jodie, his grandson Tyler and other relatives and friends - known collectively as Team BG - walked 22.7 miles on Sunday to raise funds for St Vincent's Hospice, in Howwood.
The 57-year-old, who died earlier this year, was diagnosed with cancer in July 2021 and went through several different types of chemotherapy and radiotherapy.
In December 2022, Billy was told that the treatment was no longer working and it was feared he would not be with his family on Christmas Day.
However, he managed to continue to enjoy meals with his loved ones and pursue his hobbies such as fishing until he sadly passed away on February 24.
Following Billy's death, his family were keen to give back to St Vincent's Hospice, whose palliative care nurses had supported them during this difficult time.
Billy's daughter Jade said: "We are so grateful for St Vincent’s Hospice and appreciate the invaluable help that was available from them.
"Places like St Vincent's need donations in order to keep their services going and help others like Billy and our family."
As well as taking part in this year's Glasgow Kiltwalk, Team BG also raised money for the hospice by organising various Easter events, a raffle and a charity day.
