A former Johnstone pub is to be transformed into a cafe.
The Black Cart, in the town's High Street, had been in business for more than a century before it was put up for sale last year after closing its doors.
It has since been bought by a Paisley-based developer Euan Donaldson and planning permission for a cafe has now been approved by Renfrewshire Council.
The design statement proposes "a cafe/deli/Mini-Mart/Bakery type space within the town centre" at the front of the unit, with seating areas behind and a kitchen at the rear of the premises.
Outdoor seating is indicated within the rear garden area, with a flue to run up the external rear wall.
The plans also seek to support active travel by offering cycling storage.
