The family of a man from Renfrew who went missing in Lanzarote have flown out to the resort town he was last seen in to search for him.
Gary Shearer was last seen in Celtic pub Bar 67 in Puerto del Carmen on Thursday, March 16.
The 53-year-old was wearing a Celtic top the night he disappeared and is described as 5 ft 3 in with grey and black hair and walks with a distinctive limp.
His family, with the assistance of Bar 67, are organizing a search party on Friday, March 31 at noon.
His sister Nikki Shearer told the Daily Record that his passport, money, and belongings were still in his hotel room and that he is diagnosed with epilepsy and Type 2 diabetes.
Gary's sister Michelle Shearer is appealing to anyone who is able to attend to help the family search for her missing brother.
She wrote: "We are organizing a search for my brother Gary Friday the 31st at 12 noon please come help us if you have some spare time meeting place across from Bar 67.
A spokesperson from Bar67 wrote on Facebook: "I met Gary's family today at Bar 67 and they are absolutely devastated, such nice people and they just want their family member home so if anyone knows anything please message me."
A spokesperson for the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office said: "We are supporting the family of a British man who has been reported missing in Spain and are in contact with the local authorities.”
