A MAN has appeared in court charged with a murder bid in Johnstone.
Ross Platt made no plea at Paisley Sheriff Court today.
The 47-year-old is accused of assault to severe injury, permanent disfigurement, danger of life and attempted murder, as well as assault and attempting to defeat the ends of justice.
He was committed for further examination and remanded in custody.
Platt, from Johnstone, will appear again in court within the next eight days.
It comes after we reported that a 45-year-old man was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital with life-threatening injuries on Thursday afternoon.
Cops were called to Houston Square at 3.45pm.
The area was locked down by officers and forensics scoured the scene.
