POLICE are appealing for information after a car was torched in Renfrewshire.
The white Audi A4 was discovered on fire in Merksworth Way, in the Shortroods area of Paisley, at around 9.45pm on Saturday.
A crew from the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service rushed to the scene and was able to extinguish the flames before anyone was injured.
Police have confirmed the incident is being treated as wilful fireraising and their enquiries are ongoing.
Detective Constable Barry Gourley said: "Fortunately no one was injured but the vehicle was extensively damaged.
"A dark-coloured saloon car was seen at the time of the incident which left in the direction of Inchinnan Road and we are keen to speak to anyone who may have seen it or its occupants.
"In addition, anyone with dashcam or private CCTV footage that could assist with our investigation is asked to get in touch."
