A CHARGE for garden waste collection will be introduced in Renfrewshire later this year.
The new permit scheme will see households in the area having to pay an annual fee of £40 for the service.
Plans for the charge were confirmed on Thursday as Renfrewshire Council met to set its budget for 2023/24.
Further details about the scheme have still to be confirmed, with the issue to be discussed at a future meeting of the infrastructure, land and environment policy board.
The introduction of the charge comes as Renfrewshire Council faces rising cost pressures, as well as a massive budget gap to plug over the next three years.
