A MUCH-LOVED restaurant in Renfrewshire has made the decision to close due to the "current financial crisis".
Meat in the Middle Paisley is the latest eatery to shut its doors as the hospitality industry as a whole struggles to cope with the cost-of-living crisis.
However, staff at the restaurant are now hoping to team up with another business to continue providing their services to customers.
In a Facebook post, a spokesperson for Meat in the Middle Paisley said: "It is with deep sadness that we have to inform you that Meat in the Middle Paisley has closed.
"We have succumbed to the current financial crisis like many other businesses and have had no help to aid our survival.
"We have built up a very large customer base over the last couple of years and we continue to get phone calls and messages every day which would indicate there is still a viable business but not one that can absorb all the overheads on its own.
"A creative business model that is popping up all over the country is the 'dark kitchen' approach. This is where you operate a business within a business and share overheads.
"This would work for MITM Paisley and we are currently looking for a business to talk to around this approach.
"If anyone knows of anywhere within Renfrewshire that would be interested in a second income stream which would assist with overheads etc, we would love to receive a private message.
"This could be a pub that has an idle kitchen, a current hot food establishment that can house some additional equipment, a cafe that closes at night, etc.
"Fingers crossed we find somewhere.
"Thanks again for your support."
