AN Erskine man has appeared in court accused of killing a teenage pedestrian by dangerous driving.
Former youth footballer Ciaran Dickson allegedly struck Aidan Pilkington, 18, on Crow Road, in the Anniesland area of Glasgow, in the early hours of September 11 last year.
Mr Pilkington was taken to the nearby Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Dickson, 20, is charged with causing death by dangerous driving and four other charges.
These include failing to stop to give information to police and attempting to pervert the course of justice.
Dickson made no plea when he appeared at Glasgow Sheriff Court.
He was granted bail, with his next court date yet to be determined.
At the time of Mr Pilkington's death, his family paid a glowing tribute to him, saying it was "very cruel" that he had been robbed of his life.
They added that the teenager, who had been set to begin studying at Dundee University, was "treasured and well loved."
