COUNCILLORS will be asked to consider a combined cash boost of more than £11,000 for two community groups in Renfrewshire next week.
Spateston and Inchinnan development trusts have applied for separate grants from the Community Empowerment Fund.
The fund's key objective is to support local organisations to acquire and develop community assets.
Members of Renfrewshire Council's Communities and Housing Policy Board will consider the applications on Tuesday.
Spateston Development Trust could receive £9,200 to develop a secondary business plan and feasibility study, with the aim of creating a purpose-built community development centre in Johnstone, on the site of a former early learning and childcare centre.
Meanwhile, Inchinnan Development Trust has requested £2,275 to fund business planning support for a community asset transfer application involving the India Tyres Playing Fields.
Community Empowerment Fund awards do not commit Renfrewshire Council to a particular outcome as part of the asset transfer process.
Those applications are dealt with through a separate decision-making process.
