A POPULAR Renfrewshire pub has raised hundreds of pounds for a children's charity by hosting a family fun day.
The Marmalade Pot, in Saturn Avenue, Paisley, organised the event as part of Sizzling Pub & Grill's 'Sizzling Community Change' campaign.
The pub chain has set themselves the goal of collectively raising one million pennies for their charity partner Make-A-Wish UK, and other local community good causes, through a series of fundraising activities.
After kickstarting their fundraising activity with the launch of a special charity dessert last month, the Marmalade Pot kicked things up a notch by hosting a family fun day and raising £450 for the charity.
With a DJ soundtracking the event, activities included a prize raffle and bingo – with guests encouraged to give generously to this brilliant cause.
James Kelly, general manager at the Marmalade Pot, told The Gazette: "At the Marmalade Pot, we pride ourselves on being at the heart of the Paisley community, and this charity partnership will help make a big difference to the lives of children and their families both in Renfrewshire and across the UK.
"We're so proud to be supporting Make-A-Wish UK as part of our Sizzling Community Change campaign, and it was great to welcome faces old and new to the Marmalade Pot for our family fun day and raise money for this brilliant cause in the process."
It is hoped the pub chain's partnership with Make-A-Wish UK will help make a real difference to the lives of children in the local communities that their pubs are at the heart of.
Currently, around 63,000 children across the UK are eligible for a wish because they have a life-limiting or life-threatening condition and Make-A-Wish UK aims to create hope, happiness and memories for the whole family to cherish by empowering children with the chance to choose a wish that's unique to them.
