MORE than 15,000 people turned out to enjoy the Paisley Food and Drink Festival 2022.
The festival, which took place on Friday, April 29 and Saturday, April 30, attracted 17,000 people who came to sample some of the best produce and street food from across Scotland.
In the beautiful surroundings of Paisley Abbey, visitors were able to enjoy more than 30 traders, licensed bars and the Renfrewshire CAMRA Beer tent, as well as live music and entertainment.
The Platform independent street food market returned to the festival, bringing a range of traders including Kochchi Sri Lankan Street Food, Shawarmarama and 2020 British Street Food Award winner The Peruvian.
Kathryn McCormick, general manager at Platform, said: "We had a fantastic weekend with our Platform on Tour area at Paisley Food and Drink Festival – and the crowd were just as happy to be back out enjoying this fab festival.
"A lovely bunch of people, great food, drinks and music. We can't wait to come back next year."
Other stalls included Scozzese wood-fired pizza, Churros Barcelona, Gatehouse Coffee Roasters and Porelli Loop and Scoop, while the Rum Shack provided a Caribbean twist to the opening evening with their resident DJs Samson Sounds.
Sarah Hill from Glasgow said: "I love coming to Paisley for the Food and Drink Festival.
"It’s always a great mix of CAMRA beer, tasty treats and friendly faces. Highlights for me this year were frozen strawberry daiquiris – even if it was raining – and Green Day tribute band ‘Groin Day’ at The Keg Stage & Bar the end of the day.
"I’ll be back next year."
