THROUGHOUT the decades, a number of nightclubs have graced Renfrewshire – but what have your favourites been?
We asked what was the best nightclub in the area back in the day and your responses poured in – with more than 750 comments on The Gazette's Facebook page.
In no particular order - here’s some of the nightclubs suggested by readers and a few memories.

- Phil Docherty said: "All day in carnegies then over to mannequins at night... Thats how we rolled in the 90's"
- Hilda Downs said: "Valentino’s best of times…even had a spell workin behind the bar….used tae sneak a few Carlsbergs doon me mind ye wee Davy never knew….or did he…"
- Annie Mac said: "Just about all of them from corkers all the way down to Carnegies back in the 80’s. You could go a really good pub crawl back then because there was loads to choose from"
- Stuart Cruickshank said: "Worked on the door of Paris and Carnegies back in the day. You also had The Garage, The Cotton Club and The Videoplex all going strong late 80s / early 90s"

- Linda Campbell said: "Bird in the Hand Hotel, then back to the Cochrane House Hotel in Johnstone back in the 70's"
