A WATERING hole in Houston has been named the best in Renfrewshire as part of this year’s National Pub and Bar Awards.
The Fox and Hounds was rewarded with a place in a list of 94 county winners across the UK.
Each of the pubs, which have been selected on overall best practice across a number of operational categories, will be officially crowned at the grand final in London on Wednesday, June 22.
Judges will also reveal 15 regional winners before announcing the National Pub and Bar of the Year.
The awards aim to put exemplary licensed premises in the national spotlight, showcasing the hospitality industry’s diversity, creativity and vital importance to the UK economy.
Tristan O’Hana, editor of Pub & Bar magazine, which hosts the event, said: “These 94 county winners are wonderful examples.
“If you live near one of these sites, make sure you pay them a visit.”
