SEVEN members of Renfrew Baths Amateur Swim Club have reached the championships of a national swimming competition.
Amy Rousseau, Cammy McMillan, Charlie Burns, Ewan Watson, Finlay Giudici, Katie Gillies and Rebecca Marsh have all secured swims across each day of the Scottish National Age Group Championships.
Despite successful competitive swimming in its early years, until now the club had only managed to send one swimmer to the national championships.
Susan Fraser, chairperson of Renfrew Baths Amateur Swim Club, said the young competitors were a testament to their families, their coach and the club.
She told The Gazette: "This is a truly amazing experience for our club.
"We pride ourselves on being a family friendly club. The fact that we have seven swimmers representing us this year is simply fantastic and goes to show we can be friendly and competitive at the same time.
"I'd like to wish all swimmers the very best for a fun filled week of racing. We are so very proud of you and will be cheering you all on."
Over 1,000 athletes representing 92 clubs from across the UK have descended on Tollcross International Swimming Centre, in Glasgow, for five days of competition.
The event is running from today until Sunday and the action can be followed across social media using the hashtag #SNAGS2022.
