MUAY Thai fighter Lee Mackay isn’t resting on his laurels after making history by becoming the first Scot to win the WBC Celtic welterweight title.
The Johnstone man secured a third round stoppage victory against Irish opponent Dommie Kelly at the On-X, in Linwood, last month.
It was an impressive performance, given that experienced Cork scrapper Kelly has held several titles in the past and faced top-tier fighters such as WBC world champion Sean Clancy.
Hard-working Mackay, 24, trained twice a day, six days a week, at OB’s Muay Thai gym, in Johnstone, in the build-up to the big fight and has since posted a message on Facebook to inform his fans that he remains hungry for more success.
Mackay wrote: “I still want more. One week off then we’ll be back working.”
