POLICE have appealed for witnesses after a man died in a car crash in Renfrewshire at the weekend.
Emergency services were called to Houston Road, near Glasgow Airport, following a report of a car on fire around 11.50pm on Saturday.
It was later confirmed that a man had died at the scene.
The road remained closed yesterday while officers carried out an investigation to establish the cause of the one-vehicle crash.
Sergeant Adnan Alam said: "Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the man who died.
"Crash investigators are carrying out inquiries to establish the full circumstances of what happened.
"I would urge anyone who may have witnessed the crash or been on the road around that time to contact us.
"Similarly, I would appeal to anyone who has dashcam footage to contact officers as soon as possible."
Anyone with information is asked to call officers on 101, quoting reference 4563 of March 26.
