A MAN has been charged after a police officer was injured during a disturbance in Renfrewshire.
Police were called to an incident in Old Greenock Road, Langbank, at around 1.20am this morning.
On arrival, the suspect was quickly traced and reportedly started shouting abuse.
It is alleged that he resisted arrest and an officer suffered a serious hand injury during the struggle.
The suspect was eventually taken into custody and the injured officer was taken to the Royal Alexandra Hospital, in Paisley, for treatment.
A report has been sent to the Procurator Fiscal.
