DRIVERS should be aware of week-long road closures on the M8.

Essential maintenance is set to shut various locations on the motorway, from tomorrow (Monday, October 25) until Sunday, October 31, between the hours of 8pm and 6am, each night.

The work will be carried out using full overnight closures.

Monday, October 25 - M8 Junction 30 – 29a Eastbound 

Closure M8 Eastbound Junction 30 Craigton – leave M8 by taking slip road to M898 - travel to slip road (first left) for Erskine – take slip road to roundabout under Erskine Bridge - take third exit onto A726, go under Erskine Bridge to roundabout – take first exit onto Barnsford Road – go through three roundabouts to the Red Smiddy roundabout and take the third exit onto A8 Greenock Road West – join M8 EB at J29a.

Thursday, October 28 and Friday, October 29 - M8 Junction 28a – Whitecart Viaduct Eastbound

Closure of M8 Eastbound commences at Junction 29 – leave by taking slip road to St James Interchange roundabout (access maintained to Airport from roundabout) – take third exit onto A726 Greenock Road/Caledonia Street to traffic signals at St James Street – take first exit onto St James Street towards Niddry Street – bear left onto Niddry Street to junction with A741 Renfrew Road – turn left onto A741/Renfrew Road carry straight on through several roundabouts – (cross over M8) – Take the second exit at the roundabout and re-join the M8 at Junction 27 slip EB.

Closure M8 eastbound Junction 29 at airport – travel under M8 to roundabout – take second exit to St James Interchange and follow diversion above

Saturday, October 30 - M8 Junction 22 Westbound to M77 Southbound and M8 White Cart Viaduct Westbound

Clsoure M77 on ramp outer braid at Junction 22 - diversion along M8, off at Junction 24 - Helen Street - Paisley Road West eastbound - Dumbrek Road, then on to M77 at Junction one southbound.

Closure of M8 Westbound at Junction 27 - leave by taking slip road to Renfrew Road Roundabout – take first exit continuing on Renfrew Road – then take right hand split to Weir Street A726 and then take left hand split onto St James Street – at the traffic signals turn right onto Caledonia Street / Greenock Road A726 to St James Interchange (M8 Junction 29) and then take the second exit at the roundabout to re-join the M8.

Closure M8 Westbound Junction 27 to airport – follow diversion above and take the fourth exit from the roundabout at St James Interchange for the airport.
