A FORMER reservoir near Kilmacolm will be going up for auction on Friday.
National Property Auctions have set a guide price of £85,000 for the now drained High Kilmacolm reservoir, which extends across around 16 acres of land.
The site is situated around five miles north east of the Clyde Muirshiel Regional Park and is approximately half a mile walk from an access road which leads closest to the site.
Before being drained, the reservoir originally contributed a supply of water for the water district within the Parish of Kilmacolm.
It is nestled in an attractive rural location close to the village, with the surrounding countryside being used for popular outdoor pursuits such as golf, walking, running, cycling and water sports.
The site and reservoir are accessed via a single-track access road (signposted for Hardridge Farm when leaving Gateside Road) leading from the main road at Gateside Road coming in from the direction of Kilmacolm.
Mandi Cooper, managing director of National Property Auctions, said: "Situated in a stunning rural setting, this former reservoir could be utilised for a number of ends uses. It offers an exceptionally rare opportunity with potential to grow income from leisure, tourism and environmental enterprises."
Further details, along with a video of the former reservoir, are available at www.nationalpropertyauctions.co.uk.
