A MAN has been arrested after three people died in a horror road crash in Renfrewshire this morning.
Police confirmed the 35-year-old was arrested in connection with road traffic offences following the incident on the M8 motorway, near Langbank.
Two men aged 27 and another man aged 31 died when a blue Audi Q7 left the westbound carriageway shortly after 5am.
All three were pronounced dead at the scene, near junction 31.
Five other men were taken to hospital for treatment after suffering serious but non-life threatening injuries.
The westbound carriageway remains closed while a full collision investigation is carried out.
Police confirmed that the families of all three men who died have been informed about the tragedy.
Anyone who has information is asked to call officers on 101, quoting incident number 0860 of Sunday, September 19.
