All roads led to Houston as the village hosted its inaugural Tractor Run.
The fun event was organised as part of the Houston Agricultural Show, which largely took place online this year as a result of the Covid pandemic.
On Friday night, the streets of Houston were lined with people in socially-distanced groups who cheered as a colourful procession of tractors was led by haulage boss Robert Wilson.
Local musician Ritchie Mackay joined in the fun by dressing his vehicle as a cow, complete with ‘moo’ sound.
Tom Stewart, president of the Houston Agricultural Show, said: “We had a wonderful selection of tractors, some new and some vintage ones as well.
“The villagers were delighted to see the tractors traverse the streets. They cheered and waved them along the route.”
A poignant moment saw the tractors pause on Kirk Road as a mark of respect to past president Ian Simpson, who recently passed away.
Mr Stewart said: “Ian was the first working president of the show, after honourable presidents before him.
“He was a man who was dedicated to the show through and through.”
Several local businesses supported the event by donating prizes, including Rustic Wreaths, The Village Shop Houston, Olapip Home, One Hillside Studio Florist, Carrick Centre Cafe, Tammie Norries, The River Inn, Curly’s Coffee and Hamilton Brothers.
