PLANS for a new transport system spanning much of Renfrewshire have been revealed in a new report.
Written by Professor David Begg, a former transport advisor to the UK Government, the Connectivity Commission argues massive change is needed to revolutionise transport across Renfrew, Paisley, and into Glasgow.
Rail links stretching from Paisley in the west to Easterhouse, Glasgow, in the east, as well as Newton Mearns, in East Renfrewshire, to Bishopbriggs, Glasgow, are part of the grand plan.
Other proposals, such as tram systems across the city, are part of ambitious and costly infrastructure projects put forward as the solution to a better 21st century public transport system.
