ACOUSTIC musicians are being invited to play in one of Renfrewshire's most iconic buildings in a bid to 'save' it.
A 100-day campaign to raise £1.5million to save Coats Memorial Church in Paisley has been launched.
And on Saturdays from noon until 4pm, acoustic artists are being invited to play or sing in the stunning building to raise awareness of the campaign.
The fundraising drive is being led by businessman Ian Henderson and behind him is a steering group made up of business people and community leaders.
The church closed last October following years of declining attendance, but it is hoped it could be turned into a multi-purpose venue if enough cash can be raised.
It was erected in memory of Thomas Coats, co-founder of the Coats thread company and a noted local philanthropist.
It is regarded as one of the finest Baptist churches in Europe and dominates the town's skyline, with a capacity of around 1,000.
The acoustic sessions are being run by Paisley Music Centre.
Anyone who is interested in playing in the acoustic session should message Tommy McGrory on Facebook direct or call the centre on 0141 848 1033.
