POLICE have appealed for information after a 53-year-old man died as a result of a road crash.
Officers want to hear from anyone who noticed the man, who was dressed in dark clothing, walking towards the Erskine Bridge prior to the fatal incident.
He was later struck by a car while crossing the A82, near to Dalnottar Cemetery, at around 5.50am yesterday.
Emergency services were called but the man, who has not been named by police, was pronounced dead at the scene.
A woman who was driving the car involved in the incident was taken to Glasgow's Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.
She was not injured but has been left "extremely shaken."
A section of Great Western Road was closed for several hours as an investigation got underway.
Any drivers with dashcam footage of the man walking towards the Erskine Bridge is asked to hand it in to police.
Information can also be passed on by calling road policing officers via 101, quoting incident number 0428 of Thursday, December 13.
