RAIL passengers in Renfrewshire and East Renfrewshire have been told they will benefit from more seats in the run-up to Christmas.
With the festive party season getting into full swing, ScotRail is adding extra carriages to the busiest services on key routes every Friday night and during weekends until Santa’s arrival.
Among the services to benefit will be those running through Renfrewshire while travelling between Glasgow Central and Gourock, Wemyss Bay, Largs, Ardrossan Harbour and Ayr.
In East Renfrewshire, extra seats will be added for journeys between Neilston and Glasgow Central, which has often been flagged up as one of Scotland’s most crowded routes.
A spokesman for ScotRail said: “The lead up to Christmas is always a busy time of year and that’s why we’ll be adding more seats.”
