A MAN is fighting for his life after he was struck by a car in Paisley last night.
The 64-year-old was seriously injured as he crossed Gallow Green Road, in the west end of the town, at around 6.30pm.
The incident occurred near the junctions of Maxwellton Street and Broomlands Street, when he was struck by a 50-year-old woman driving a Vauxhall Mokka.
Emergency services rushed to the scene and remained there for five hours as a silver 4x4 vehicle was taken away on a tow truck.
It is understood he remains in a critical condition at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.
Police revealed enquiries are ongoing into the incident.
A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: “A 64-year-old male pedestrian was seriously injured after being struck by a vehicle in Gallow Green Road, Paisley around 6.30pm last night.
“He remains in a critical condition in hospital. Our enquiries are continuing.”
