COPS are appealing for information after an armed man stole hundreds of pounds from a Johnstone store this morning.
Officers rushed to the scene of the Day-Today store in Thornhill at around 7.30am after a man threatened the owner with a weapon and subsequently made off with a three-figure sum of cash.
The suspect is described as male and was wearing a grey hooded jumper and glasses.
The owner was left shaken by the incidents, but did not require treatment.
Police believe someone was in the area just at the time of the robbery and are appealing for them to come forward and provide information.
Detective Inspector Ross McDonald said police would be carrying out door-to-door enquiries and surveying CCTV footage.
He added: "Anyone who was in area can contact us on 101 or alternatively Crimestoppers on 0800 555111 where they can give information anonymously."
