THE Paisley fireworks display has been called off due to safety risks posed by severe winds and rain expected tomorrow.
Due to take place in Paisley town centre, the firework show is always one of the most hotly anticipated events of the year.
But sadly, council bosses have been advised the forecast would make it impossible to deliver the event safely.
The show was previously cancelled in 2014 due to fears that the wind was set to blow in the wrong direction meaning fireworks would pose a threat to people and buildings.
However, council chiefs have told The Gazette there are no plans to reschedule at the present time.

A Renfrewshire Council spokesperson said: "Paisley Fireworks is one of the highlights of our event year and we know lots of people will be very disappointed. We want to give local people and all of our supporters as much time as possible to change their plans.
"There is no plan to reschedule at this time but we look forward to welcoming everyone to our Christmas Lights Switch On in Paisley on Saturday, November 17."
