A concerned councillor has called for action after a leading bus firm announced its services will no longer stop on a busy road in Erskine.
Passengers using services 22 and X23 operated by McGill’s will now be unable to get on or off in Bargarran Road.
The nearest alternative stops are in Barhill Road or at the Sempill Avenue terminus.
Councillor Michelle Campbell, who represents Erskine and Inchinnan, has now asked Renfrewshire Council if it can take action.
She said: “I am aware bus services are no longer stopping at previous informal points on Bargarran Road.
“I have sent an enquiry to explore the possibility of the council, via SPT (Strathclyde Partnership for Transport), placing a new bus stop on the road.”
Commenting on the move, a spokesman for McGill’s added: “We would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused but, unfortunately, this is entirely outwith our control.”
