NICOL - Edward (Ed) 11th December 1939 17th May 2020 It is with sad hearts we announce that Edward "Ed" Nicol, aged 80 years, died quietly at home, in Barrie Ontario Canada, on 17th May, 2020 with his loving family by his side. Beloved husband of Anna, nee Mackechnie, together for 62 years, married for 59 years. Also survived by his sons Jim (Shirley), David (Joanne) his daughter Tracey and his grandchildren Brody, Shania, and Devin. He was their cherished Father and Papa. Ed is survived by his loving sisters Ebeth (Ian), Janette (Nick, deceased) and Nancy (Barry) and their families. Ed's father was a Glasgow Police Sergeant and his mother was Elizabeth, nee McVie. They were both born in Paisley as was Ed and his three children. Ed shared a life long friendship with his best man, and brother, Robert "Bob" Black (Irene) and their sons and their families, sharing vacations filled with humour and music. Ed never forgot friends made in Paisley, sharing the joys and sorrows of raising a family, visiting when possible, they remained friends throughout his life. Across the moonlit heather, My laddie waits ere I roam, Soon we'll be together, In that heaven we call home.
