FULLARTON Derek (David) Peacefully, at King's College Hospital, in Denmark Hill, London, on Saturday, 15th September, 2018, Derek (David), formerly of Auchenback, Barrhead and a former dux of Barrhead High School. After studying at Glasgow University he moved down to join the Church of England Church Commissioners in London, where he became P.A. to Sir Derek Pattinson, Secretary General of the Church of England Synod. He was then asked to join Lambeth Palace as Administrative Secretary to the Archbishop George Carey, and later Patronage Secretary under Rowan Williams and Justin Welby. He retired on 30th June 2013, but continued in various voluntary roles within a number of charities. Derek, was a dearly loved son of the late Willie and Ebeth, a much loved brother to Brian, Brenda and Shirley, and a very special uncle to two nieces and four nephews. He will be sorely missed by all. Funeral Service is at Neilston Cemetery, on Wednesday, 10th October at 1.15pm, to which all friends are respectfully invited. The Service of Thanksgiving in England will be notified as soon as arrangements are in place.
