MILLER - Alexander Sinclair. On 26th October, 2015, at Dunedin Hospital, New Zealand, in his 95th year, born 10th February, 1921, in Rothesay, Isle of Bute, beloved husband and companion for 66 years of the late Barbara Mary Miller, loved father and father-in-law of James, Rose and David Stiles, Ken and Maureen, Edwin and Judy, grandfather of Chris and Jade, Zoe, Victoria, Richard and Emma, great grandfather of Beatrix, Monty, Riley, Kayden and Addison. At 2.00 pm on Thursday, 29th October, a private gathering and internment was held at the Allanton Cemetery, Dunedin, New Zealand. Family and friends of Alex later held a memorial gathering to relive Alex's journey from his upbringing in Port Glasgow, work as a marine engineer in the Clyde shipyards, through his service in the Second World War, to emigrating in 1953 with his young family to New Zealand, and their subsequent life in Dunedin.
