ORGANISERS of one of Renfrewshire's best-loved festivals are using the magic of the movies to spread some cheer this weekend.
Lochwinnoch Arts Festival will be launching their first Community Films 4 U event this Saturday, giving film buffs the chance to enjoy classic flicks at the village's Lochbarr Leisure Centre.
The blockbusters being shown, which were voted for by residents of Lochwinnoch, are Mary Poppins Returns, starting at 3pm, and Black Panther, which begins at 7.30pm.
A spokesperson for Lochwinnoch Arts Festival said: "Delivering quality films in the community gives people the chance to engage with film in a cinema environment and engage with the arts without driving long distances to cinemas.
"Furthermore, we have almost no public transport, so for many people a visit to the cinema is impossible."
Those who attend the free screenings should bring their own chair or blanket and are encouraged to make a donation.
