Erskine Veterans Charity received a donation of around £11,000 from Scottish ice hockey team, the Glasgow Clan.
The cheque was handed over at the charity's base in Bishopton by head coach Jason Morgan and defenceman, Jake Bolton.
The donation came as a result of the charity auction that the Glasgow Clan organised at their home game against rivals, the Fife Flyers, on Remembrance Day last year.
The players donned specially designed Remembrance camouflage jerseys, which were later auctioned off to fans, with all profits going to the Erskine Veterans Charity.
Jake, 32, is now in his second spell at the Clan having plied his trade across the USA and Scandinavia.
The Connecticut native revealed that the work of Erskine hits home thanks to his family’s own military background.
He said: "Although I have only known the charity for a short time, Erskine and the work it does for the ex-service community is very important to me.
“I always, wherever I am in the world try to find ways in which I can support veterans and I have to say I personally was delighted to find the Clan had links with Erskine.”
He also met members of the Erskine Reid Macewen Activity Centre, which offers support and camaraderie to ex-service members.
The charity has changed the lives of veterans through care homes, an activity centre, assisted living, and supported accommodation.
Ian Cumming, Erskine chief executive, said: "We cannot thank Jake and the Glasgow Clan enough for their support over the years.
"This incredibly generous donation marks yet another milestone in a longstanding relationship between the team and Erskine and long may that continue.”
